Our commitment

We design and build with accessibility in mind and work to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. WCAG is a W3C Recommendation rather than a statute: no US federal regulation prescribes a web accessibility standard for private businesses, and the European Accessibility Act does not reference WCAG directly — it works through the harmonised standard EN 301 549, whose version currently cited in the Official Journal aligns with WCAG 2.1 AA. We target 2.2 AA as the stricter baseline.

The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882, applicable from 28 June 2025) reaches providers offering certain services on the EU market wherever they are established, but its obligations attach to a defined list of services — e-commerce, consumer banking, transport, e-books and others. “E-commerce” there means concluding consumer contracts online, which does not happen on this site; and microenterprises providing services are exempt in any case. We publish this statement voluntarily.

What we do

Across the site we work to provide:

• sufficient colour contrast for text;
• controls you can operate with a keyboard;
• descriptive text for meaningful images;
• a layout that adapts to different screen sizes; and
• reduced motion when you turn on your device's “reduce motion” setting, which limits animation and smooth scrolling.

Known limitations

We assess this site ourselves rather than through an independent audit, so some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We treat any accessibility gap as something to fix, and we improve the site over time.
